From plastering to damp proofing
E&H started out as plasterers, and that is still a large part of what we do. Working on wall after wall, you quickly learn that a lot of failed plaster is not a plastering problem at all: it is damp that nobody dealt with. Plaster over that and you are back within a year.
So damp proofing became the other half of the business. Today Lewis, Ben and the team treat rising damp, penetrating damp, condensation and below-ground water, and then put the walls back properly, because we are plasterers too. One team does the lot, and nobody passes the blame.
We have been doing this for more than five years across West Yorkshire, for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, housing providers and commercial clients.

The way we work is simple, and it has not changed since we started.
- A free survey, and a straight answerWe test the walls with a damp meter and tell you what is actually causing the problem. If you do not need work doing, we say so.
- A fixed price in writingNo hourly rates that creep. If the wall turns out to need more than we expected, we explain it and agree it with you first. Never a penny more without agreeing it.
- We treat the causeCovering damp up is cheaper on the day and useless within a year. We deal with what is making the wall wet, then replaster.
- Clean and tidyFloors and furniture covered, rubbish cleared, and the room left ready for you to decorate two weeks later.
- Guarantees in writing30 years on treated areas for damp proofing, 10 years on below-ground waterproofing, and both pass on if you sell.
- One team, or a packageWe can bring in a joiner, plumber or roofer and quote the whole job as one price, or price only our own work so you can use your own trades.
Damp proofing, waterproofing and plastering
On the damp side: damp surveys, rising damp treatment with chemical damp proof course injection and meshed membranes, penetrating damp, condensation control including PIV units, black mould removal and cellar and basement tanking.
On the plastering side: dry lining, dot and dab, float and set, levelling and hard wall, skimming over sound plaster or artex, and replastering walls and ceilings that have failed.

Yes. We work on anything from a single damp wall or one ceiling up to a full house, and we would rather tell you a job is small than talk you into a bigger one.
